The Athens metro is the most practical way to move around Athens and especially in its center. By connecting the suburbs of the city, you can move quickly and economically in the direction you want. The metro lines are as follows: 
Line 1 (green) Piraeus – Kifissia, Line 2 (red) Anthoupoli – Elliniko, Line 3 (blue) Dimotiko Theatro – Airport El. Venizelos. Media tickets can be purchased from any metro or tram stop.

Taking the bus is also a basic form of transport or complementary to the metro. A bus network connects every Athens neighborhood to facilitate city transportation. Most buses do not run after 12pm.
