The "Ioulia and Alexandros N. Diomedes Botanical Garden" was founded in 1951 and is located in Haidari, on the northern slopes of Mount Aegaleo, 8 km from the center of Athens. It extends from the Dromokaiteio Hospital to the Daphni Monastery and the tourist kiosks of the Municipality of Haidari. Its main entrance is located at the end of Iera Odos. It has plenty of greenery. Its western side attracts many people, offering moments of spiritual tranquility and recreation. People come into contact with nature and discover its magic. They enrich their knowledge thanks to the informative signs that are there, where all the information about the plants they can encounter is written. Finally, in the garden's herbarium, there are approximately 19,000 dried plant specimens, the largest part of which comes from areas that are now considered protected because they have been included in the "NATURA 2000" program network.
