The historic Athens Observatory, situated on Nymphs Hill along Apostolou Pavlou Walk, offers a captivating experience for visitors. The neoclassical building, illuminated at night, invites you to explore the mysteries of the universe. The Thisio Visitor's Center, located in the Sina Building, houses remarkable telescopes, including the G. Vouris meridian telescope and a 16cm telescope. These telescopes have played a significant role in lunar mapping and astronomical research. Evening tours are regularly conducted, with a maximum of 50 participants, weather permitting. The schedule for the year is as follows: Wednesday, Friday & Saturday (Greek-language tours): • 19:00 (Nov-Mar) • 20:00 (Sep, Oct, Apr) • 21:00 (May-Aug) Visitors can purchase tickets online, and the tour lasts approximately one hour. It's recommended to arrive 15 minutes before the start. English-language guided tours are also available, commencing one hour after the Greek-language tours: Wednesday, Friday & Saturday (English-language tours): • 20:00 (Nov-Mar) • 21:00 (Sep, Oct, Apr) • 22:00 (May-Aug) Explore the cosmos at the Athens Observatory during these captivating tours.
