Limanakia Varkizas

On Poseidonos Avenue (Sounio), nestled between Vouliagmeni and Varkiza, visitors will discover the iconic Limanakia, a cherished hangout for the youth over the decades. These coves, surrounded by rugged rocks and lapped by clear turquoise waters, offer an ideal spot for swimming with a towel spread on the rocks. In this area, visitors will find the legendary canteen, the only refreshment bar serving patrons since the 1960s, seamlessly integrated with the rocks under the bus stop (Limanakia A). Notably, right in front of the canteen in A Limanakia of Vouliagmeni, you'll spot a red buoy attached to a rope that descends into an underwater well approximately 30 meters deep, known as the "Devil's Well." This well boasts a diameter of three meters and lies at a depth of 11 meters. The crystal-clear waters often attract divers and are used for dive training. For safety reasons, a gate has been installed at the well's bottom, preventing further exploration into the underwater cave. Limanakia offers a unique departure from the organized beaches of the Riviera. Particularly in Limanakia B, there's a designated area for those who prefer nudism.
