Museum Herakleidon

It opened in 2004, in order to serve art, education and culture, just like its initiators and founders, Paul and Anna-Belinda Firos, dreamed of. Housed in an impressive neoclassical building of 1898 in Thissio, the museum up to 2014 remained focused in Fine Arts, organizing important exhibitions, which were supplemented by seminars, workshops, musical and literary events. Today, with the philosophy of the triptych "Science, Art and Mathematics", it organizes innovative educational programs for students, teachers and adults in the main building, as well as art exhibitions and popularization of science in the annex. Under this philosophy, the new permanent interactive exhibition "Play and understand" in the main building of the museum invites children and adults to come into contact with science, art and mathematics, through creative play with appropriately selected and designed interactive exhibits. Exhibition "Plefsis" – Greek Shipbuilding and Navigation from antiquity to modern times (37, Apostolou Pavlou Str.)
