The "Botanical Garden of Iulia and Alexander N. Diomidos" was founded in 1951 and is located in Haidari, on the northern slopes of Mount Aigaleo, 8 km from the center of Athens. It extends from Dromokaiteio Therapetirion, to the Dafniou Monastery and the tourist kiosks of the Municipality of Chaidari. Its central entrance is located at the end of the Sacred Way. It has enough greenery. Its western side attracts a lot of people, offering moments of mental tranquility and recreation. Individuals come into contact with nature and discover its magic. They enrich their knowledge thanks to the information boards that are there and there are written all the details of the plants they can meet. Finally, in the garden of the Garden there are approximately 19,000 dried specimens of plants, the largest part of which comes from areas that are now considered protected, because they have joined the network of the "NATURA 2000" program.
